Not much in common between the items on your list... how did you determine the short list? What is your intended usage?

I just want a good recreational shooter. Also I am just curious of what other people would get.

CZ-USA -> CZ 527 VARMINT

Great rifle! Will shoot 5.56x45 also, it has a CIP chamber that is rated for the 5.56 round. It is quite the piece of hardware. Cheap to reload for and 300 yard accuracy is no issue. 1:9 barrel twist. Just remember, for a good bolt gun, you need good glass. Your final investment will be over $1000.00

1) A shooting buddy has a WASR10 & it has been VERY reliable and fun to shoot. He decided to customize it with some vented plastic furniture & such to make it look more tacticool. It seems to function fine on wolf cheapo ammo from whatever brand AK mag available. It is reasonably accurate, plenty for plinking. I don't see it as much of a hunting rifle, but he has said he wants to take it hog hunting.

5) I had a similar .22 pistol when i was a youngster and really enjoyed the inexpensive target practice.

All of them are fine choices for fun guns. If you are mostly punching paper either of the SPS Tacticals will make you happy. They have gotten very good reviews and my personal experience with in both .308 and .223 have shown them to be well above average shooters.

This is just my opinion, but I'd go with one of the remington 700's, but that's proley just because I have a weakness for high-powered, accurate, bolt guns.

If your looking to do target shooting and want a good accurate easy to shoot gun go with the CAR 15 the barrel is inline with stock so the recoil goes straight back which ain't that much because the 223 or 5.56 is basically a super charged 22. But it has a effective range of about 600 meters in skilled hands.

I'd go with the WASR-10 for dependability and cheap ammo.

For pure fun, nothing beats a .22LR, pistol or rifle, IMO.

Of course, for accuracy on the cheap, it's hard to beat a Rem or

Savage bolt action.

Depends what you like.

If you want an accurate bolt action cheap, with cheap, available ammo,

have you looked into a Mosin-Nagant?

This is all so personal, but for good cheap ammo in bulk, you really

can't beat com-bloc 762x39 & 762-54R...

I would try all this stuff before you buy.

My preferences mean nothing if you, say, prefer to shoot ARs.

My opinion, the Car-15. Granted it's .223, but a good AR is a great to have. The ammo is cheap, and there are lots of accessories
