Very nice. How does it shoot after the improvements?

Very nice! Now pop a few pigs at distance. I got a call about a boar in western NH that has been raising hell out there, but sadly The heavy snow made it impossible to get out there. He screws when ever anyone gets within 200 yards. There is a game park, Corbin park that they keep escaping from. European Boar. I actually want to use my M41b in 6.5x55 or my Howa HB in .308 for him. He is estimated at 175..200lb.s. He was a stud boar.

If the weather is good next Thu or Fri I will take it out and burn some powder. I would like to go earlier but there is a forcast of freezing rain for the first of the week.
My objective is to build a load that gives excellent results in both the 5R and my M1As. I will experiment with 168 gr. SMKs and Hornady Amax using IMR 4895 and CCI primers.
Previously I got half minute groups at 100 with 42 gr. IMR 4895 and 168 SMK in the 5R before bedding and the trigger change. I'm sorta stuck on 168s.

You may want to try a slower powder, like IMR4064. You may loose a little velocity, but gain accuracy. I really like 165gr BT for all around paper punching and hunting. If you want the extra 25fps, try BLC(2). 4064 is not very temperature sensitive as others.
