Hay guys, got my new/used Remington Varmit, in the 6mm cal. Did the usual bore clean+copper fouling removal, Flitzed out the metal,Johnson's paste waxed the BEAUTIFUL wood! Man it's a pretty SOB I hope it shoots as well as it looks! The guy I bought it from threw in 10 rounds of Remington factory loads, and about 43 once fired cases. I put together 20 rounds of 58gr. Hornady V-Max. loads, with 44 gr. of Varget, last weekend(BEFORE I got the rifle HA HA) And hope to test fire it tomorrow-GREAT Father's Day gift, don't you think?? __________________ NRA Life MEMBER 1976 |

Hay, thanks Tango. When I learn how to post picts. on the board, I will. Wanted to burn some powder through it this last weekend, but it was too hot/humid around here to be outside much. Worked some more brass instead. I hope it shoots as well as my other 700 Varmit, in 22-250! Man it's a shooting SOB!! Now if I could just talk my relative out of his 700 Varmit in .308, I'll have all the bases covered--HA-HA!! __________________ NRA Life MEMBER 1976 |

Those 6 mm are outstanding rifles. Sometimes you have to tinker to find a load it likes. Fine rifle, mighty fine. Lucky dawg. __________________ SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS

Please get those photos up.
If my dumb butt can do it then anyone can!
Unfortunately for me, I was blessed with height, good looks, and rock hard abs instead of brains, oh well. |

Congrats on your new rifle. 6mm Remington is an excellent caliber. My uncle has one that I worked on for him. He said it wasn't shooting good. I recrowned the muzzle, set the trigger at about 3 lbs., free-floated the barrel, and bedded the action and the thing shoots great. I think it will easily shoot with your 22-250. Hope you enjoy it. |
