Here is mine after I cleaned it. Its the russian model (1952)
No way you just bought a Tula SKS for $180. If you did, you got a smokin' deal. Around here, Yugo SKS's are high 200's - low 300's, Norinco SKS's are about $350 - $400 and Tulas are about 5 bills.

Haha thats quite alright, mind you my gas tube has the serial number engraved instead of punched, which probably brings the value down. Anywho, its barely noticeable and the stock is in great condition

I guess you just gotta find the right deals. I waited a while to get mine, and even then i found a way better deal! The guy owned a little gun store outside of edmonton and had 4 of them in! Plus he got them shipped in a couple days before the show so they were soaked in cosmoline which is maybe another reason the price was down

i have actually picked up several older Remington M700's for less than $350 and have even picked up a couple for less than $300.

if a person can choose wisely and knows firearms, there are some good bargains used if you don't mind getting out and looking and seeing what's available.

the Marlin X7 series of rifles can sometimes be bought new for under $350 in some places. these are well made and accurate rifles and are a good value for the price considering the features they have.
