Default Good 300 win mag

Hay everyone I'm looking at buying a 300 win mag. I would like some advice on brands and models that are under $1500.00 that still do a nice job.

Well the Rem 700 in 300 win mag has been discontinued according to Remington's site, are you looking for New or Used? If used I'd go with the 700.

Mitch,What are you wanting to do with it? Hunt-Target shoot,or both.
It's hard to suggest something without a little more info. You can get a 300WM in a lite weight sporter hunting rifle or go all the way up to a 30+lb bench rifle.
I shoot a Savage 110FLP,but I set it up for Long range target work, and it weighs around 17lbs the way it's set up.Not exactly what you want to carry around all day.I had a Ruger #1 that I hunted with for years, and it was around 9lbs.
I bought a magnum contour barrel for my Savage, and it will serve as a hunting barrel with the action, but will be put in a different stock for that purpose.

Savage-Remington-Tikka-Browning-CZ-Howa-Winchester,and several other mfg's offer rifles chambered in 300WM.Just find the one that fits you and your budget along with a decent scope, and you should be happy with it.Most modern made rifles are very good shooters,so just pick one that you like.

I'll mostly use it for target shooting but I love to go for a hunt. But it needs to be fairly heavy

Well in that case I'd suggest look at the Savage 110 Long Range Hunter,or 110 FCP HS,and the Remington 700 Mil Spec 5R or Sendero SFII.
The Tikka T3 Varmint or Super Varmint are also great shooting rifles.

Or you could always build what you want off a Savage or Remington 700 action, but with a Savage you can do it yourself with a couple simple tools and 30 minutes of time.
