Is this a good .223 Remington 700 coyote combo?
I am in the process of gradually researching the parts necessary to make a semi long/long range coyote/prairie dog hunting rifle.
The reason for this thread is to ask your opinions on which of these pieces that I have listed, will work well in the field, and on the bench. (For random target practice.)
RIFLE: Remington 700 SPS Varmint .223
SCOPE: Leupold VX-II 4-12x40mm adj. obj.
STOCK: HS Precision Tactical thumbhole stock (model# PST082)
BIPOD: Harris Pivoting Bipod 11"-25"
I am hoping this combination of parts will provide both a comfortable, and accurate shooting platform for coyotes and prairie dogs out to about 400 yards at the farthest.
All of this together will come out to about $2000. (Which is my budget)
I DEFINITELY am going to go with a .223 so thats one of the only things I am NOT asking about. |
