If you had to chose one rifle to hunt with and defend yourself with as well as a sidearm that weighs less than 4.5 lbs
Mine would be a marlin 45-70 guide rifle and a kel tech su 16 |
That question is a tough one. Especially without a SCOPE.
Zoey, |
The more I shoot the Judge carbine the more I am impressed with it. It would be hard not to pick that little gem up whether it was to shoot rabbits, deer ar the two legged varmints.
Prolly this one, along with my G19 or G21 for the sidearm.

I don't like questions like this. To me, being asked to pick just one rifle is like someone pointing at my kids and asking, "if you could only keep one, who would it be?"
Remington model 700 30-06 with Hornady SST bullets. Those things it hard. I was shooting a target up against a bodark tree with these trying to sight in my scope and they would Knock a huge amount of the bark off of it with each shot. Regular winchester ammo just made a small hole.
I'd prefer a .30-06, but to grab and go would be my Mini 14 and a 1911.
I would go with my LR-308 and my XDm9. Semi-auto in both, good caliber in the rifle for both self defense and big game, and I have a low power scope for precision shots. And big mag capacity on the pistol. Plus I can hit pretty well with both of them.
I think I would keep it simple...a levergun and a single action revolver. No scope to get busted up and no magazines to lose.
AK47 with the under folding stock, simple rugged and ammo is available pretty much in every country.
