Followed me home today....
Went to two local gun stores to search for a scope. Found one. Wasn't what I went in to find.
Ruger American in .270. Felt better than the marlin or savage to me on how it shouldered. Bolt was smooth and the stock had a little more felt heft.
More pics later. Busy now.
Sad part is, no scope  . Now I need two.
Shocked my wife who was there. Asked how much it cost. Told her as much as the last two coach purses you just bought, or the box o clothes from place.

Good choice. Right now you can find 270 ammo almost anyplace. A really nice cartridge.

That was the main motivation. It's available. Lol and inexpensive enough to shoot.

So bolt latch seems to e faulty, that keeps the bolt from coming out and you have to depress it, rotating the bolt ebough the bolt slides out. I will clean it and see if its gunked up from the factory.

It feels nice. About the bolt. I'm stupid. It looked like the bolt lock was "in" or "on" again. I had to push it and it clicksto lock back in. Duh.

Nice rifle. Hurry up and shoot it. I've been considering one in either .270 or .243. Either of those calibers seem to be available and reloading components seem good. I'll be waiting on your range report.
