First Range Day
Finally got a decent day off to try out my budget built woodchucker. My wife bought me the frame, I got the stock from Eabco and a Bergara barrel from Midway. The scope was a close out from Natchez. It was listed at about $250 I think on sale for $60. I wanted the 6-24 but they were sold out. I got a 8-32. At 32x, the mirage is so bad it's almost impossible to keep a decent hold. All told I am only in for less than 5 bills.
Anyhow, I put a 2x hinge pin in it from Mike Bellm. I think it's going to prefer the 50-55 grain weight range which kinda makes me mad since I have 400 rounds of 60 grain TAP. They'll be good enough for the local woodchucks and crows though... I'll have to see what it can do with some handloads.
