A fire starts and you can only rescue one rifle.

For example, do you rescue the most expensive or most unique, difficult to replace? Let's exclude photos, clothes or pets from this gun topic, to make it easier.

Other than the old Savage .22, have a Mini 30, SKS, two MN 44s (very inaccurate) and now a LE "Jungle Carbine".
The Mini was the most expensive and both semis are in excellent condition, but the LE is certainly the most unique and fairly accurate, whereas the two MNs don't begin to compare (at only 50 yards...).

Which type in your group would be saved first, even if they are all insured?

Oh, a tough question.

I guess it would probably be my LRB M25.

But I do have an awful lot of nice rifles right next to the M25. Are you sure they can't come along, too?

Just out of curiosity how did you acquire the rifle you used in the Army? As far as I know, the military isn't in the habit of selling weapons to soldiers getting discharged.

M1 without question.

The one closest to me. It's a fire, damn it. Get the heck out of the house. If I can grab it on the run, it's goin'. Do I need to say FIRE! again? :D

All of them. Because I am just that good. I would get the appliance dolly and strap it to my safe and with all my might rip the thing out of the house.

That's the spirit, tango!!

Then you would spend a few weeks in one of those burn beds like the karate kid did in The Outsiders before he died. FIRE!!!
