cord lokt gets my vote.

it has been said a thousand times but im saying it again
it all depends on your individual firearm
my gun prefers hornay's/handloads to cord lokt
but your's may shoot like a competition gun with cord lokts

Hornady superformance or hand loads.

Neither Federal or Remington make the grade for me. I'd rather spend a little more and get a LOT better results.

Fusions for me hands down. I know a lot of people like the core locts but they don't shoot well in any of my guns. I know a lot of people who use them on elk as well with great results.

Which ever type shoots best out of your rifle.

I would go with the core-lokt. Great expansion and they are easy to find at a good price.

as stated above...it all depends on what works best in your gun. Remington factory core lokts have preformed flawlessly out of my remington rifles.

You cannot compare handloads with factory ammo. Hornady XTP's are a world apart in my handloads.

The question was specific to 30-06 deer application. Out of my Remington model 4 06 the 180 gr C.L's are the only thing i will feed it for deer.

Try a couple competing brands and weights through your rifle and see what shoots well. If CoreLokt gives good groups, I recommend it. Every deer I have harvested was with a CoreLokt and round always performed. You will be able to find CoreLokt 30-06 everywhere and you will only pay around $20/box of 20 (a lot less on sale), vs much more for some of the competing rounds.
