Ive owned 4 mosins = sold one to a buddy = thing is the marking carved into your stock (a Z) every one Ive bought has a similiar mark or a square with a diagonal mark in the middle of a square. All my Mosins are also WWII models. Does anyone know what these marks are (maybe it stands for a Nazi hit or killed) if anyone knows the anwser to what these marks mean Please reply. Thanks

I enjoy mil surplus rifles. I only have two:/ A '34 hex izzy mosin. Also a chicom sks. Both are a hoot to shoot.

My ar is my evil mistress.

That being said, I love bolt guns. Out of the ones I have shot, my favorite was a Browning A-bolt, in .300 win mag with a boss system. Sweet shooter and deadly accurate.

I'm not a big fan of Mk1No3. The No4Mk1 is a different story. Sold my 1942 No4Mk1/3 about a year ago. Nice rifle, real nice. I'm that way with my Mausers. The thing about Mausers is they go further then Military rifles, Further then 1 caliber. I know the Aussies have made them 25-303 and others, but common calibers and some real thumpers.

1942 Finn M-39 "B" barrel.

Today's cost around $400.00, it has a "manly" recoil, shoots cheap ammo and is a tack driver.

I've got a Mosin 91/30 which is almost as fun to shoot as my M1 Carbine, which is right after my old Marlin 60. I actually love them all and on any given day, who knows which one is the favorite.

You mean some people actually like one rifle better than just any rifle??? Seems strange and foreign to me. I always get this feeling whenever I get near any rifle (with a few exception I won't mention). I like about 99.9%. I'd have to say those are my favorites. I don't like them much if I find out they won't shoot straight - usually. Sometimes I like them even if they shoot knuckleballs (muskets).

My favorite bolt rifles are my Mausers,, one a Czech '98 sporterized, rebarrelled to 7mm Remington mag., it has taken elk, deer, hogs, bison, and about anything else that I would hunt. My Chilean small ring 7X57 Mauser is also a nice shooter,, it needs a new stock as it is too short for me. My favorite rimfire is my Marlin 39, accurate and dependable as are my 10/22 Rugers, my old TC Hawken is my pet muzzle loader in .54 caliber. They are all favorites or I would have traded them off,, still looking for another Sharps reproduction at a decent price in 45-70. That favorite was a victim of a divorce settlement as were a few others.
