My bullet is still plenty heavy and the bullets I use are built for penetration. They're meant to take dangerous game. Your bullet is a heavier hitting bullet but not good for more than maybe fifty to seventy five yards. And I promise you you don't know half as much as you think you do. So next time you have a dilator remark to make. Think to your self. Hey. Maybe this guy knows what he's talking about. That will keep you from sounding like such a dumbass

I think you are asking for a short run at being a member here. Jpattersonnh has been a pretty good source of info for a lot of people. He has some insight and can do it without being a whiney PIA know it all like you are coming across as.
You aren't impressing anybody acting like that.

I see we have a hot head here. There's no need in attacking,JP and He's pretty sharp whan it comes to ballistics.

Now you say you know what your talking about! Well if the powder was of the same type,and same charge and the only difference was the bullet weight,then yes,you are correct about the heavier bullet dropping before the lighter one with most 30/30 bullets.
But being a reloader for many years,there's hardly any load that is the same for different weights of bullets,and being that most bullets have a better BC as they get heavier,it will in most cases blow your theory all to pieces.

A 308 or 300 WM will shoot a 208gr AMax bullet further and more accurate than a 168gr AMax bullet.It's because the BC of the heavier bullets allows it to do so.
I'm known to shoot just a little,so prove me wrong.

i agree with your way with words! how well said jp! maybe when carter starts reading a little history on ballistics he might learn a thing or two! didn't the 45-70 have excellent long range ballistics? and they used bullets in the 350-450gr weight range! i think the lack of the buffalo herds in America have proven that! i will take your 9.3x57 over his 257 any time i need to hunt a very large animal intent on doing harm to me.

powderburn, check out Hornady's 160gr Leverrevolution ammo. might just be what you are looking for. hornady makes excellent ammo and i use a lot of their bullets when reloading. hope this helps and good hunting!
