Will dry firing a Winchester Model 94 hurt it? I am trying to teach my wife how to shoot properly and there will be some dry firing involved. Thanks.

Dry firing should not affect the rifle, however you could take an fired case, remove primer and fill the pocket with silicone or even better glue a pencil eraser in the primer pocket. The eraser can be trimmed to fit flush with the case head and will last quite a few firings.

Been a collector of these models for 45 years and pretty much know them insides and out. To answer your question, yes dry firing these can and often does break the firing pin. Not a severe thing, just have to replace it. The solution is simple, a company called AZOOM builds aluminum feeding dummies that has a flexable "primer" that allows thousands of hits without damage to gun or dummy.
