Different people like different things in firearms. For the last three years, I have been selling "new" stuff to purchase "old" stuff. While I still retain a modest modern assortment of "work" guns, all of my play guns are mil surps from 1895 to 1955. You get a decent rifle, but superior history to go with it. I also like guns with lots of wood, and don't like guns with lots of plastic. I have a scoped modern rifle, but I like iron sights. I have a flashlight on the shotgun that lives by my bed, but no other electronics hanging on any other firearms.
A man needs a good shotgun, a good rifle and a good pistol, everything else is for fun. What I like is a matter of personal taste and has very little to do with rational thought.
