Nope, I never name them. First of all, I couldn't remember all of the names in my modest collection.

Donn, your post reminded me of a great joke!

A guy walks into a bar and sits down at the end of the bar.Not long after, a sultry, voluptuous, 30-something brunette sits down beside him. They strike up a conversation and inevitably the topic of sex comes up.

After several drinks, the brunette says to the guy, "I'll do anything you want for $300!"

"Anything I want for $300?" he asks.

She replies, "Anything, anything at all."

The guy reaches for his wallet, pulls out $300 and hands it to the brunette.

"Paint my house," he says.

My glock 20 picked up the name 'the beast' and I had an old bp kit gun pistol that was nicknamed 'the terrifying gun' because everyone who looked at it was afraid it was a trigger actuated grenade.

I had a Savage 110 Tactical that I nicknamed AT&T.

I got it before you explained it strat -- funny right there.

Of course I don't name my guns. Couldn't remember 'em if I wanted to anyway and I'm not insulting anything that eats and detonates cartridges. I do know a guy who names his guns...

He has a sorta popular niche website and videos. Imagine a bug-eyed version of Quentin Tarentino who never moved away from home, always wears the same shirt, knows a whole lot about his guns, gives each one of them a typically teutonic name and only calls them by it! The last bit is just icing on the cake of a social misfit IMO.

Since I collect historic military firearms, I am just proud that none of them are named "Bubba."
