I personally think keeping weapons spread around the house is a bad idea, loaded or not. It's too easy for an unwanted individual to get a hold of them.
I keep 3 weapons loaded in my house, my carry/nightstand gun, my wife's revolver and a shotgun. If I'm not home my carry piece goes with me and the other two are hidden.

I keep 4 guns loaded in my house. My carry gun and bug which 98% of the time are on me and the Sig and 1911 in the safe or wherever she places it at when I'm gone.

I guess I go at it backwards. I don't want a bad guy to be able to pick up any gun and know it's loaded so I only keep specific guns loaded around the house. That way I know which guns are loaded and the bg doesn't. And I don't want to be upstairs and not have a gun that's loaded while the bg is downstiars with several loaded weaspons. Almost all of my loaded weapons are downstairs because that's where I'm at most of the time. I do have a shotgun loaded in the bedroom.

Mine are hidden but not well hidden. I have an alarm and dog so the gunfight will be happening fast and they wont have time to find anything. I find it a little uncomfortable to carry around the house so I just keep them placed where I usually hang out.

I have no room for a safe but when I leave for long periods I have hiding places in my house that a contractor couldn't find. The weather has been nice around here lately so if the doors are open I am always carrying.

Default guns and other things

my dad always taught me to leave at least 5 things ,around the house ,inside and outside to kill somebody with if the need ever were to arise . guns ,hammer, big long screwdriver ...think about it ...ever over at any oldtimers house and wonder why a big screwdriver or hammer was just laying around

Most are in the safe unloaded except the one right in grabbing position which is loaded. The ones near me are loaded.

All are in the safe but two handguns are loaded on the front of the shelf with two clips each and a 30 round clip is in a rifle. I have kids which I'm not worried abut but their friends come over quite a bit so better safe than sorry. But I can get the safe open in well under a minute in low light if needed.

My house is for sale, and I don't want one of my guns to "walk" during a showing, so they stay in the safe when not with me.
