This is a "million fish in the sea" situation. There is

usually another deal literally around the corner.

Case in point: I was looking for a WWII collectible

pistol. Granted, a chrome coating doesn't improve

the collector's value of a firearm, but here in Florida,

with the humidity, any rust resistant coating, such as

SS, Nickel, or Chrome plating is preferable to me.

I found a Walther P38 chromed, but is was a lousy job,

and the pistol looked like it had subsequently been dragged

from Pittsburg to Topeka. A disappointment, granted, but

the next day I found a Chromed FN GP35, which had been done

beautifully, with Waffen SS markings.

" signifigant rust pitting " Doesn't sound like much of a deal . Ofcourse having a 27' 94 would be cool in general . But a old shot out gun thats going to need what sounds like a lot of work to get in in un original but shooting condition ? I'd rather spend 390.00 for a 94ae in a .cal that is easier to get .

On my local gun trader website everyonce in a while you find a old pre 64 for 500 ? in used but working and general good order. I'd rather have that with original patina .
