Default Detachable Mag Conversion REM700

Alright. I'm getting a little annoyed with the internal magazine of my Remington 700 SPS .270WIN.....no particular reason, I just don't like it.

I've done a bit of research and saw the Kwik Klip Conversion at Cabela's website....

http://http://www.cabelas.com/magazines-clips-kwik-klip-remington-model-700-clip-conversion-kit-2.shtml?type=product&WT.tsrc=CSE&WT.mc_id=GoogleBa seUSA&WT.z_mc_id1=741478&rid=40&mr:trackingCode=E7 C1B7CC-958E-DF11-A0C8-002219318F67&mr:referralID=NA

I was just wondering if anyone had seen any other kits or ways to do this for a bit less $.

Looks like a good price to me. I spent around $300.00 for the Badger Ordance DBM.

Is there a big reason to spend that and play with if for the change...

What real feature or benefit is gained?

The benefit for me is time. I shoot 1000 yard practical precision rifle where from the 200 yard line out to the 1000 yard line during a match you are under extremely limited time constraints to get your points. An X, 10, 9 or even an 8 ring is much better than a 7, 6, or 4 ring when it comes to competing with others. Using 10 round magazines gives you extra seconds at each fireing line which buys you time to help nail the wind correct and not reloading as many times, as an internal magazine would require, precludes you don't have to rebuild your position a couple or so times at each firing line to do so. Magazines, do however, limit the overall legnth of the bullet seated into the brass. Bench rest shooters commonly load their ammunition so that the ogive of the bullet is within a few thousandths of an inch to touching the lands or even touching the lands in some cases. Thats why alot of times you see the bench guys sleding rounds one at a time into their rifles.

This is the one I have. I love it. With the big scope I've got on mine loading from the top was a pain in the ass. Not only does it load quicker, with 1 rounds it increases capacity, and it feeds a lot smoother. I highly recommend it!

I use Badger Ordance. They use AI magazines which I find very reliable. I have 10 round AI's for the .260 Rem. and 5 round AI's for the .300 Win. Mag. The 10 round AI mags for the .300 Win. Mag. are single stack and are too long for me to want to use in prone.

I like it too. You can shoot it all day long! It has the aluminum bedding blocks and the barrel free floats in it. It is a heavy gun, but that's how I like it!
