Here are my two babies, a Browning A-Bolt Micro Hunter in 7mm-08, and a Remington 700ADL in .243. I love them both and hope that someday my grandkids or great-grandkids will hunt with them.

my budget do-all Savage Axis .223 with a Bushnell 4-12x40 scope. I just picked this one up in April so it hasn't taken any deer yet, just paper targets & a few prairie dogs

99% of the time i've never had a use for a bipod deer hunting but this year i think i'll try letting them come to me for a change & maybe that bipod will work in my favor

Wow I just finished putting together a deer/bear gun very similar to yours. Mine is in .35 Whelen and the scope is only a 2.5-8 VXIII but also a Remington 700 in an HS Precision stock. I went for the blind mag version of the stock and an Aluminum trigger guard and solid aluminum Talley one piece rings/bases to save a few ounces. This one only weighs about 7.5 pounds and I'm getting solid sub MOA groups with Factory ammo.

i use a winchester model 70 african express in 458 winmag. load is 350grain soft point at 2000fps.

less meat damage than a 30-06 and its fun to watch the reactions of traditional hunters

this is it sporting a leupold vx-7

This is my Winchester 94 30-30(1945),and what "was" my Marlin 444(1971).I never went hunting with the 30-30 yet because it was given to me by my dad and i've always been offered by others to use their guns that have better glass, and the .444-oh--I traded it to my buddy for an older S&W 915 pistol, bad trade on my part, although he has said he would sell it back to me.But that 444 will knock the snot out of a deer.

Wambli, your 700 looks great. How does .35 Whelen kick with a 7.5 lb rifle?
