Default CZ 550 American Safari Magnum with .458 Lott

I want to be able to travel anywhere and have a gun that can take down anything. I am not a hunter, I would only use it in self defense. I'm looking at the CZ 550 American Safari Magnum with .458 Lott. Would that be able to take down an elephant if it charged me? You might be thinking "If he's not a hunter, why would he need that kind of gun?" Well let's say that i'm vacationing in Africa, and I come across some elephants. There's no guarantee that they won't charge me. Yes i'll be careful not get too close to them, but just in case on of them is in Musth. I'd rather have something that can protect me rather than relying on the vehicles speed for safety. Driving away would be my first defense. If the vehicle isn't vast enough, i'll use the gun. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Here's the link to it-

CZ-USA -> CZ 550 American Safari Magnum

Thanks!

This is a very strange post to me. When I first read it, I was wondering:

I did search on Google first. I couldn't find anything relating to the .458 Lott.

Update: I did some more searching and I found the answer to my question. I do try and find the answers on Google first. I don't want you to think I just come here before searching anywhere else.

Ok, rather than just laugh at this one I'll ask a serious question.

Have you actually done the research on whether you can actually bring a gun to any of the places you might want to visit?

My first question is where do you Live, that you are afraid of an elephant attack? Do you visit africa or parts of India often? If you were to go to the places where Elephants live and you are not hunting them would the local powers that be allow you to carry a gun for self defense?

Have you looked at how much a box of bullets will cost you for that cannon? I saw them at Gander Mountain for somewhere around $250 for 20. You must have deeper pockets then I do.

I can safely tell the poster that you do not want one of these rifles. It is a very specialized rifle. It is meant for buffalo and elephant. Big stuff that is difficult to stop. I have one and it likes the Hornady 500gr stuff at 75$ a box of 20. Recoil is what I call "brisk". Not the worst I have ever felt but certainly not an all day plinker. You have numerous choices of guns and calibers for what you are asking for but a .458 Lott should not be one of them. I hope this helps.
