My Savage 11 Trophy Hunter, I did using Krylon Fusion paint, Rustoleum plastic primer as a base coat, Krylon Clear coat(8 coats), Fish net hose.

Denatured alcohol ,for final cleaning, after 600 grit wiping, and soap and water.

Let every coat dry for 1 hour. Do not sand between coats (unless you leave it 24 hrs), each coat must be very light coats.

After 14 days of curing, wax with Johnsons paste wax and buff.

Very tough and resillient, no more of a problem than wood or any other finsih, if you bang it against a car door, it will probably chip.

Heres my grandsons Cricket, just for fun. He calls it Copperhead.

Hey Phid , not usually a big fan of the net patterns but that savage is gorgeous. Really good job.

As stated above prep, prep, prep. Take your time. Seriously, spray paint can be tricky if you rush to put to much with not enough dry time between coats.
If you decide to use leaves....
1. Use leaves natural to your area or the area you plan to hunt.
2. Think of spraying it in layers, but think of the layers as kinda backwards. I go lightest to dark.
3. Use a 2x4 and practice on that if your if your happy,, hit your gun up.

I'm thinking of hunting with a 2 x 4 this year. Now that would be bad ass.
