I cannot find a single piece of information on their websight. I sure would appreciate a post with a link to this info.

Plano ® :: Hunting Products

Look at the individual case descriptions under hard sided cases. The ones with "pluck foam" are meant to be cut. Find your model and see what it says.

The extra layer of foam is provided for fitting. This can be done easily with a grease pencil and an electric knife.

Hey Crockett...that looks like a great job you did there. How long did it take? How many times have you done it before?

No kidding. Looks great. Personally - I'd love to just pay a professional to do this. I cannot imagine mine would look nearly as nice, especially with a tactacal weapon with a bunch of curves and shapes.

When I fitted my pistols I used a bright light to create a silhouette on a sheet of paper which I then traced. I used the tracing as a template when I cut the foam. My rifle cases are the two-foam variety though, so not sure how effective and easy tracing would be for larger items.
