Cleaning Kit Redundancy?

I am new to the gun world, don't own any yet myself, but have a friend who is very into guns (especially rifles). This person has cleaning supplies, but I found a nice wooden tool box with cleaning equipment and a stand to place the gun during cleaning, would a gun owner want this as a birthday gift or is it redundant if they already have the supplies (but not the case)?

Any other suggestions for what a gun lover would want for a gift would be appreciated!

Thank you for your time.

I'd rather have a nice Tipton gun vise Tipton Best Gun Vise - MidwayUSA!!

But that's me!

Good Luck.

Thanks! I'll have to think about that, it looks like something he might get a little more use out of.

if it all comes in a nice set i'm sure they won't mind, even if they already have some of the stuff that's in there. the brushes do wear out and you never know, the rods may accidentally get dropped and stepped on and bent or something.

but, if you are still on the fence about what to buy your gun loving friend, i know one gift every gun lover would like for their birthday....A NEW GUN!!! :)

Usually the set comes with the equipment to clean many different calibers of guns. If your friend has a variety of rifles, shotguns, and handguns, I think the case would be nice, and/or I like dunerunners idea also.

Get the Tipton! It is an indispensable tool for the rifle owner.

I suggest the Tipton gun vise as well. If your friend has rifles, it makes working on them so much easier. If he doesn't have rifles, then he won't have any use for it, in which case, a nice kit would be a good gift.

I constantly wear out a brush or snap a rod. I have enough odd rod pieces to clean a Howitzer. I'm constantly in need of kit parts, you really can't have enough if you shoot on a regular basis.
