I just bought my wife an Iberti 'Cimarron' Yellow Boy in 38 special. I've never owned a brass receiver rifle before. My question is how do you care for it? Is a brass cleaner a good idea and will it damage the finish on the stock if it gets on it? Or do you use gun oil on the cleaning rag like a steel receiver. I want to get some feedback from someone with experience with these before I chance ruining either finish. I bought it used so I have no manuel with it. Thanks!

If there's no protective laquer coating over the brass, and if the receiver is in fact brass, then any metal polish like Brasso or Noxon will work. I don't know about Uberti, but Henry's Golden Boy is NOT made from brass - you better check that first. BTW, that's Uberti, not Iberti. Cimmaron should be able to advise you.

Any good brass polish will work fine,after you get it polished to the desired shine,put some liquid wax on it and it will stay untarnished longer.
