I'm sure something definitely could happen. Or we could stick to the ammo that our rifles are chambered for and be safe. I was looking into 5.56 for my howa and everything I've read says don't do it, so I don't.

Thats where I stand, on my ruger mark 2 in 223, I tried 5.56 but the bolt was hard to open after the shot so I use only 223 in it

Yes it gets hard to open but its fine, well for my country arse it is

Now when I finish my AR build I sure won't have a problem at all thinking about getting the .223 Wylde barrel.
