As for me I would choose the Barrett 416 over the CheyTac 408 hands down!
You might want to do some research in that area of ballistics and other areas of the weapon systems.

The book the movie was based on (Point of Impact)has lots of information on his background and training. Very good character development rivaling Clancy's creation John Kelly/Clark in Without Remorse.
