maybe the 783 is the gun they should have came out with in 2007 when the 710 was discontinued?

Yea. But I think Remington is trying to come back with some new guns. Change them up for the better.

I've been trying to find one to buy. No body has them in California yet. I really like it.

my XS7VH in 308 has a Swift Premier 8-32x50 i put on it, paid $265 for that scope. my XS7 in 7mm-08 has Swift Premier 6-24x50 on it, paid $240 for it. my XL7C in 25-06 has a Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40 on it and paid $200 for it.
Not to change the topic of this thread, but own a few of same model Swift scopes 6-18x44, two bought from here. http://www.thesportsmonkey.com/products/Swift-Premier-Rifle-Scope-8%252d32x50mm-CAO.html

Usually lower prices for Swifts there. Order a Swift from Optics Planet, for example, and it will probably be shipped from this place.

I have a 770. I bought it because I wanted to try elk hunting. But didnt want to dump a bunch of money into another sport I was not sure I would like. I paid $299 for the 770. That included the scope. I spent a day making several different loads. When I tested them my best consistant group was with a 180 grain soft point. I was able to shoot a 1 inch 3 shot group at 200 yards. That is half moa. That is plenty acurate for me. There are much more expensive rifles out there that can not do that. The bolt does feel like a toy. I have hunted with it twice. But I have now replaced it with a Savage 110. I replaced it because the Savage is left handed as am I. I do not think the 770 would hold up to abuse. It realy does feel like a toy.

I do love hunting by the way.
