Yeah just like buying a car don't let the sticker price scare you, I never pay retail for one.

But do bear in mind a good rifle needs good optics, rings and mounts, without that you got nothing. The Tikka comes with rings/mounts from the factory all it needs is a scope.

They used to import (They are made in Finland) a T3 Varmint heavy barrel but I have not seen one in a couple years, the standard T3 has a pretty thick barrel for such a light rifle, it is noticeably thicker then any of my other rifles.

Haha yup on some guns people will spend more on the scope then on the gun and on some large calipers like a 50BMG or a 338 lapua magnum if you don't have a nice scope the recoil will ruin it

Do the tikka rifles have free floated barrels as well? And how are the trigger? Are they adjustable?

I was kind of hoping just to buy like a combo pack deal. And just use what it comes with.

The least expensive scope that I will use with confidence is a Nikon Prostaff, they are a solid performer for only $150 in fact my Tikka wears one, my higher end rifles have some more fancy Leopold/Redfield scopes but a Prostaff BDC is as good as any for hunting IMHO, never lost a zero, and they have good low light visibility.

LOL, Unless you are getting one of the rare Nikon packages don't count on that I have had three of those Simmions and Bushnell package scopes they are garbage, none of them lasted six months. The rings and bases on those combos were trash too, I replaced them all with Reaper one piece setups and could not be happier.
