I put a B&C on a 338 Win mag and it made a whole lot of difference in how it felt when I shot it as well as being a perfect fit.

Here is the B&C stock on a 1917.
Hey M14's what are the B&C stocks like? I've been thinking of getting a Medalist for my little Weatherby to dress it up a bit; the current stock has a few scratches etc... Do you think it'd improve the accuracy, even on a sporter-weight barrel? That's a sweet looking rifle BTW

Gent I've used for some gunsmithing, a retired machinest who's worked on guns as a sideline for well over 40 years, used the P14 action to build two 404 Jefferies rifles for a guy.

They are much higher quality that the price would indicate.

The HS Precision stocks that came on the Remington PSS rifles were famous for splitting. Junk, IMO. You can get 3 or 4 of the B&C stocks for the price of one HS, and they shoot very well. Still a good idea to bed them, but plenty of guys do not and the rifles shoot great.

I did not bed my 1917 because the stock fit great, and the rifle shoots MOA with a sewer pipe barrel. If I ever get through my list of projects, it will get bedded. Til then it is GTG as is.
