Well guys I decided to go with the .223 I already have a couple 30-06s and they do great for anything big game in CO. I picked up a little H&R bull barrell. It was only 250 so now I can maybe get a decent scope to go with it. As soon as I get it all put together I will post pics and a range report.

I believe you can send the rifle to H&R later to have another barrel fitted in 308. Might want to consider that option as funds permit.

The .308 works fine on 'yotes, too, and you can hit them harder farther out.

Am I smelling bitterness? You almost threw me off the scent with the fragrance of .454 Casull, but bitter is definitely rising out of some ashes you've got.

Also just read your thread on your AR build, good luck, I’m staying tuned in on that as it is something I am also considering to attempt! And thank you for all the links you have provided there! I am learning a lot
