Can anyone help me identify this stock?

I found this thing in my dad's shed, he said he has no idea what it fits and that I could have it. Just by looking at it, I'm 99% sure that its a mil-surp but it doesn't look like anything I'm familiar with.

I appreciate any help that I can get.

Thanks.

Are there any markings on it? It kinda looks like an 03A3 stock. In awfully clean shape judging by the pics.

No markings, it's a sporter stock. It is in good shape, save for the "fitting" someone did on it.

The inside is kinda rough.

Idk. Obviously a bolt action. Looks like its been refinished. Without any marking at all its gonna be hard to identify 100%

Yeah, it's a factory curly/tiger maple. That little protrusion on the left side is like nothing I've ever seen

This page has info on Mauser actions, it will give you a good idea.

I have. I have a 1955 Commercial Husqvarna 8x57 built on a 1947 FN receiver. It is from the thumb cut for chargers. It is a Mauser stock.
This is the original stock.

Sweet, thanks. Will it fit most mausers or just a few?

I'm kind of thinking that the stock may be junk. The cut out for the action is so far forward that you couldn't pull the trigger without sliding your hand way forward also.

I put the pen in the trigger housing for reference.

What would fit is based upon if it was done for a Small ring, or large ring action. The trigger looks like this:

You may be correct that the stock is just made wrong.
