Glad to hear that she is fine, again we all wish her the best!

I am guessing the berm is 12" high and virtually every shot properly imbedded.
Think that you meant 12 feet?

BTW: The antis have already jumped on it. This link is named gunguys but it is an anti site.

Yes, 12 feet (12') It's actually higher though... closer to 20' as I went out there yesterday.

That's much more reasonable. I was on my soapbox because 7 inches at 700 is MOA. Cold bore alone could put the average shooter well over that 12" berm and have an incident. I never even gave thought that you might have meant 12 feet.

I fully retract my comments about irresponsible shooting procedures and offer a full retraction...

All in all my perspective is, the range is safe to use for high-powered rifles up to 300 H&H Magnum and "possibly" a 458 Win Mag. I would seriously think long and hard before capping one of these puppies there.

Default Barrett 41 cal.

If the 50's are banned just go to the 416 cal. actually a better round

You have been there: Thanks for your insight. That range does not meet the criteria for an Army .50 caliber range.

I'm also glad to hear that she is ok. Also glad that the shooter had the gall stones to come forward and say that it might have been his bullet, you don't come across honesty like that much any more.

I'd like to add that saying a gun has no civilian use is wrong, the .50 and similar very high velocity cartridges are used for hunting large animals like elk in some states. I know 2 guys that I work with that both have Barrett .50 cal rifles and shoot them on Sundays at our workplace. We work in a limestone rock quarry, they shoot either into a very large pile of lime or into the mountain side.

Also I might add, the are a lot of politicians out there that say the beloved AR and it's variants have no civilian use. As well as the AK and other "assault rifles", that is one reason of many why they have been on the chopping block many times.

The word "ASSAULT" is mis-used and generic in application, by ignorant anti-gunners. There's way too much of the generic assault crap going on. Obama thinks that anything that uses a magazine is an assault weapon... what a dipsh!t.
