buying my first ar any suggestions
I have my pistols , i have my shot gun, now its time to step in the ar field. I want thd ultimate ar though. Should i go with a colt, noveske, or a dpms. And which caliber is the best to choose 5.56 or .308. Last is the twist...would more twist be better for accuracy, 1in7, 1in9 or 1in12. Im going for tactical, accuracy, and reliability, so if the **** hit the fan im ready but until then id be using it for a 3 gun compitetion

Ulitimate I would contact a mod and ask for this to be moved to the AR sub forum. You'll get more responces.
DPMS? Wash your mouth out w/ soap! The other 2 are quality. The Colt is a good value. The Noveske will give you great accuracy and high end quality.
I'd recommend a 16" lightweight profile, midlength, 1:8, 5.56 barrel. Manufacturer = BCM, Daniel Defense, PSA.
Optic = Aimpoint or EoTech RDS or a 1-4 magnified.

Get a Colt, M-4 and you're set.

I would normally say so if you were strictly looking for a defensive weapon and due to the higher price of the Noveske but if you're wanting a rifle for competition the Noveske fits the bill better. Noveske will provide you w/ more options and better accuracy.

I have a Colt AR 15 5.56x45 mfg (commercial) in 1994 and a Colt (Walther) C 4 carbine in 22 cal......I love both, but the 5.56x45 ammo is getting more expensive every day.
You will love the AR 5.56x45 in what ever brand you buy, but make sure you are prepared for the ammo costs.....Also, if you cannot shoot or hunt center fire rifles in your county or state you will be restricted to indoor ranges to remain legal.
