Default Browning X-bolt stainless stalker. Which caliber would be better 7mm rem mag or .308

I am looking into getting a bigger caliber bolt action rifle to hunt with. I have picked out the Browning X-Bolt Stainless Stalker, but I'm wondering if it's worth the $1200 I'm gonna have to pay for it. I'm also wondering whether I should go with a .308 caliber or 7mm Remington Magnum. I want the round that will reach out the farthest, hit right where I aimed it, and stopped the game dead in its tracks when it gets there. I'm looking at hunting everything from coyote to deer to boar to mountain lion. This will be my go to gun for anything above a coyote.

i say the 7mm will give you the best out of what you say you want. its flatter shooting and packs a harder punch at longer distances. a bit overkill for yotes, boar, and deer. would be great for elk, mountion lion, bear. ammo is a little harder to find. i dont know if you reload or not. if you do great you can really get the performance out of the 7mm.

Yeah I don't think I would be using it for yotes or less because my .223 takes care of them just fine, but I do want it for anything bigger because I wanna make sure that if I get my reticle on a 500 lbs boar, it drops it not just piss it off. And same with the bigger, more dangerous game such as bear, mountain lion, or elk. I want to be able to carry it and know that I have the capability to drop anything I come across. It sounds like the 7mm will do that and I do also reload so I should be good once I get a decent stockpile of ammo stored up.
