I looked on the site and wasn't able to find anything BOSS related for the x bolt.

I don't know, Kent...I checked out the BOSS n the customer service section...but didn't look for any rifles with any of them...

I believe yall are right on the x-bolt coming without boss only. I went to browning website and didn't see any x-bolts offered with boss.

Whitewolf, were you able to get out and test the gun? How's the bolt action doing for you?

I'm planning on using a Nikon scope too, interesting how our set-ups will be similar.

Nope haven't tested it yet...Just got ammo for it the other day....And I been gone since then...Between trucking and Mothersitting, I haven't had a chance....Also ordered a Weatherby Vanguard .270 Win...Going with a Leupold scope on that one....WhiteWolf4

Stalkingbear, I think you're the man to speak with about Browning identification. I think I have an A-bolt in .338 Win Mag but can't match it with a pic on the Browning site.

It has a Monte Carlo cheek piece but has no checkering and lacks a thumbhole. It fills a hole in my inventory and I made the mistake of asking to hold it. <sigh>

I'd like to know exactly what Browning calls this critter and what it prefers to be fed as well as what fodder it could fire.

My gun buddy is another Kentuckian but he's more into handguns. Yesterday I discovered he's named (Bugler) his neighborhood bear. They share a small mountaintop in Ky.

There are a few models that was/is made with Monte Carlo stock, but the no checkering part is throwing me. Browning made a model called euro-bolt, but it has an flattened bolt handle.

The Boss system is probably the best tricks that has come out of any manufacture.
What it dose is tune the barlle length to match the exit of you're lead.
This greatly increases the accuracy of the gun as long as the shooter dose his job.
This can be seen butter with hand loads. First adjust you're load to the tightest grouping possable then tune the boss.
Simply remarkable.

I want to buy the X Bolt with the boss and have called Browing they do not offer it on the X Bolt . I was hoping they would come out with it at the shot Show and call them after the show , and was told they have not plans to offer the boss on the X Bolt at this time.
