Default Box... and Tube magazine?

Has a rifle ever been made that employs both a box and tubular magazine? I was thinking about this the other day and I feel like it would be fairly simple to design.

Seems like a decent way to increase overall capacity of the rifle without having a bigger magazine hanging out of the rifle.

I dunno. Maybe it wouldn't be practical or worth doing.

There is a box adaptor that feeds tube feed shotguns. I don't think it pulls from both magazines though.

I want an adapter that lets me use the 18 in my Model 60's tube and then refills it from a ruger rotary mag off the 10-22.

Rifles aren't complicated enough already? I embrace the differences.

The low profile of the lever gun, VS the ease of reloading of a box mag.

For hunting purposes, a 10 shot/lever tubie seems more useful.

Yeah, I know, not terribly practical. Prolly heavy too. Just might be a neat conversation piece if nothing else.

imo, it would only be nice as a either/or option......

like most, i like different aspects of tube and box mags.....having an option to either would be a pretty handy gimmick imo. and would make a versatile firearm.....

perhaps 30-30, and an ammo company could produce a true spitzer 30-30 round?

or maybe utilize 308 marlin express?
