Default bolt body

well this may be a weird question but here goes. has anyone ever tried to change the color of the bolt body on say a remi 700. i just got the sps and the only downside for me is the all black bolt body, weird i know. but i couldn't bring myself to spend a whole lot more just for the bare steel look. but is their a way to get a new bolt body or strip that ugly black paint off or what?

Pacific Tool & Guage makes Remmy 700 bolts. You'll have to contact them to find out what measurements they need to fill your order. A gunsmith can help with these measurements.

You may be able to bead blast the finish away then have it polished.

Here is a video from Midway USA on how to polish a bolt.

If all you are doing is stripping the spray on finish (not cutting into the metal)I would not worry about it as long as you leave the lug area alone.
