I disagree lol jk I love my 06's for close to medium range pass that I want to get a 300 win mag for

Yeah, I own one of each. The 7x57 in a Ruger #1 single shot and the .244 (6 mm) Remington in a model 722. Both great rifles and great cartridges.

something that's at least a .30 cal cause there may come a time when ya need to stop a car and a .243 just won't do it.... i prefer the .338 win mag from mulies, elk and bear to volkswagens it drops em all

OK, so Bell used 7x57 w/ solids at less then 50 yards for Elephant. It is bigger then a VW. .30cal American cartridges copied, and I do mean copied European rounds. Getting close is half the fun, it is called hunting.

id rather drop it where it stands 400 yards out and know that the animal didn't even see it coming.... the meat tastes better when it didn't build up any adrenaline
