Well, to be honest, this was first posted back in October by a guy with 5 posts... LOL

I have a 600 yard range open to the public ( 2 ) weekends a month about 1/2hr from my house.

Beyond that, I have a true 1,100 yard range open to the public one day a week and one day on every other weekend in Eatonville, which is about an hour's drive.

We are pro-long range shooting in the Pacific Northwest.

I skipped this thread when it originally started because I'm not into the tactical type stuff, but in a couple of years when it's been completely built out - unless the anti-gun people throw a fit big enough to derail it - the Clark County Shooting Park will have a 1200 yard range. I'd like to see if my M1, '03 Springfield, and Swiss K31 can hit that far.

We've got a nice stretch of BLM land in my area that is open to shooting. It's about 4 miles wide and close to 2 miles long. There is plenty of area there for long distance shooting. It gets nice mirages and opposing crosswinds through it. It's a lot of fun to shoot.

Call the local USDA Forest Service office in your area and inquire as to what public lands are available for your use in your area. It's your land, use it or lose it.

At 1500 meters, I have always been partial to the 105mm Howitzer, but in a pinch have been known to use the 81mm Mortar.

Default Gunner...sabot...tank

As far as shooting 1500 yards...I was a tanker in my Army life...It wasn't cake shooting accurately at that range, using sabot ammunition, at tank sized targets and with a heavy penetrating rod leaving the muzzle at something approaching 6,000 feet per second...and with a 105mm main gun. Now the Abrams tank has bucked up to 120mm round and is doubtlessly more accurate. But we're talking about a rifle, not a tank at 1500 yards... Forget the rifle...walk over there, get the exercise and stab it with a good Randall knife...$500!

I am sorry that has to be the worst looking rifle thing I have ever seen. The gunsmith that built that should be banned from building guns for ever. Looks like an airsoft rifle. LOL

105mm Na I prefer to call in the big boys.

You light that SOB off and everything within 1k is dead or burning. Each launcher can take out a grid square. Now that is long range fire power.

Or you could pull out the really big guns and get the USS missouri. Unleasing some 16" shells ought to take care the ground hog population in an area reall well.

I had seen video from the 1st gulf war (Solider shot) where they were so bored they started shooting camels. Boy you think a 22-250 with red mist a P Dog you ought to see what a 120mm M829 Penatrator rounds does to one. They even shot one with a M830 Heat round. Talk about fast food killed and cooked in a matter of 2.1 seconds. You have to watch out for sand in the burger though.
