Default best at 1000

What are yalls opinions on the best 1000yd caliber, rifle, and scope. This is by price also the lower the better.

I'm not a regular 1000 yard shooter, I stop around 700. But... I would say the gun you already own though is the best one, just spend the money you would on a gun on ammo

a long range course at frontsight will get you there

For me it is a Sharps .45-110-535 with a 32" Leatherwood Malcome scope.

Probably more testing for long range bullets than any other gun was done on the 45/70 back in Dango's day.

I started with a .300 Win. Mag. Kind of dumb but I didn't know any better at the time. I shoot a 6.5mm flavor now which gets to 1000 is near same form as the .300 WM and for less $$$. However, I still break the .300 WM out for beyond 1000 yard fun.

They obviously havn't figrued out a price for this course yet (kind of a new offering) but I bet it will be a good one after Rifle I & II are completed.
