hm, sorry for being interested and asking questions. I guess it's wrong to ask people what they think.

Not wrong in asking, But your train of thought has the attention span of a nat.
You have run the gambit of calibers for elk. I have given you my thoughts on Grizzly. You need a big nasty rifle w/ open sights. 9.3x62 is not that nasty! I don't care what anyone says, if a bear is charging a 286gr++ is in order. Unless you are hunting them, you are food.
Easier to find a new area. If you shoot an elk, and start towards it and a griz walks out, who will win? Don't be stupid. Walk away slowly and don't hunt alone.

And I understand all of that. I have asked about so many calibers because I want to find out what people like and dislike, I want a rifle to handle both elk and bear. As I said we can't hunt grizzlys here, but there are a lot of them where ever we hunt elk, so I would like something that has a good punch. I will never go bear or elk hunting by myself for the simple reasons of, bears think your food, and elk are too big to pack out by myself.

Wow it looks like we heard from God, or someone who thinks he is. jpattersonnh seems to know everything, and if you don't agree he berates you. I wonder how many people he's driven away from this site, because of his rantings?

BTW, you might want to learn how to spell, jpattersonnh.
