I'm building my first AR..
I'm looking for recommendations on a reallyyyy good BCG and charging handle..
I don't need the best of the best, but I want realllyyyy good parts...(although I'm sure I'll never need it)

So far I have really good parts and want something of similar quality for my BCG and charging handle...I'm hoping y'all can recommend something

So far my first build consists of:

Cold hammer forged Bravo Company 16" barrel and upper
Daniel Defense 12" free float hand guard
Spikes Tactical (zombies series) stripped lower
And now ordering a CMMG lower parts kit

Honestly, I'm looking for recommendations from all the great people on this forum to help me chose quality parts...I've owned pistols and shotguns and this will be my first ever rifle..yes, first rifle ever. And I'm BUILDING it....a little intimidating
Bt I've done months of research and have all the right tools

All the pets so far have been recommended by the lovely folks from this forum and I'd like to keep it going

First off, congratulations on your first build! Be careful because it is incredibly addicting. I'm sure many will chime in on here and have differing opinions, so I will go ahead and give you my preferences. They are top quality and would be right at home in your build. For the BCG I would go with the NiB-X coated one from WMD. And for the charging handle, I would go with the Rainier Arms Raptor. I have the Raptor in two of my AR's right now and love them. I just got in a third Raptor on Monday and disassembled it today. I am sending it off with some other parts and my lower for my next build to WMD to have them Nickel Boron coated. Good luck on your build. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, as there are a lot of very knowledgable folks on here.

I recommend bravo company for both. I have one of there complete rifles and a bcg both function flawlessly. I would buy there ambi charging handle if I could go back but they have awesome products.

Thanks y'all..that's helpful

I'll check out that rifle

I was looking at the bravo company stuff but they're always sold out everywhere!

So I went with the bravo company charging handle...but I can't find a BCG in stock anywhere!

I would have to agree that Rainier makes top notch stuff. and to add to that they have great customer service and ship in stock items extremely fast. I would not hesitate to order a BCG from them.

if not milspec, your bcg should be supplied by the same as your barelled upper. (and headspaced to it)

So will I have problems if I have a bravo company upper and then go with a BCG from a different company like spikes or rainier arms???

sniper762 06-28-2013 02:44 PM

prolly not as long as you check the headsace with your complete bcg
