If you are using it for hunting, the rest of your life.

I was thinking for hunting and some target shooting but more in terms of rounds I like to shoot a couple times a month or so

Depends on how you use it. If you shoot 20 rounds in 5 minutes and do that every couple of weeks it will last a few hundred rounds. Getting it hot and continuing to shoot a bunch can be detrimental to the throat. Think of prarie dog hunting where you might shoot 100 rounds of high pressure, high velocity ammo in a half a day. THAT is what will "shoot out" a barrel. The 7mm Rem Mag is not particularly known for burning barrels partially because it is not really a varmint cartridge adn does not get shot like a varmint cartridge.

I have a custom 7 mag that was capible of the same very small groups as a hunter 15 years later. A shoot it to check before season or when traveling and hunt only.

"Rate of fire"....prolly has more to do with brrl life than anything.

One of my sons got a 7mm in a TC.Using factory ammo as a source for cases.....has been a slight problem. Its loaded so hot from the factory that case "life" seems to be shorten'd.Iows,if reloading...you'd be money ahead to start with fresh cases. Its one of those calibre's thats pretty hot loaded from the factory. That and along with headspace issues(belted).I was just a little suprised at how fast cases showed signs of failure?
