assault rifles
im looking for a assault rifle that has a bigger caliber round then the 762 by 39 and for a good price

...the .50 Beowolf? i mean dude, a 7.62 is basically a .308 round. you could go the FAL route which is an assault rifle that is .308. bigger than that youre looking at handgun calibured rifles. or machine guns. im not sure if youre asking what rifles are 7.62x51 or just blatently bigger. but past .308's assault rifles become anti-personel cannons.

I could get really technical about this  , but I wont. If you want a larger cartridge than the 7.62x39 then the next step up would be the 7.62x51 (.308) or you could go a tad bigger and get the 7.62x54r.

i know i dont really know how to go about this. there plenty in more power than a x39. but as for just a bigger round (that is common) in an assault rifle. after .308 its pointless

An assault rifle can be defined as:
A man portable, shoulder fired, air cooled, magazine fed, SELECTIVE fire (is switchable from semi-auto to full auto or burst fire) rifle that fires an intermediate powered rifle cartridge.
An M-16 IS an assault rifle. A real AK-47/AKM IS an assault rifle.
An AR-15 is NOT an assault rifle. The Kalashikov designed "AK-47" available to most people in the US is NOT an assault rifle.
Calling an AR-15 is like calling a Chevrolet Malibu, a NASCAR race car. They may look similar, but they are very different performance wise.
I know this may sound like a semantical argument, BUT to allow an AR-15 to be called an assault rifle is playing into the scare tactic hand of the anti-gun left. The term that has become popular is SUR or Sport Utility Rifle.
Now back to the basic question... AR's are available in a variety of calibers from .22 LR to .500 Beowolf. "Bigger" than 7.62 X 39 or more powerful than 7.62 X 39? 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC, .450 Bushmaster, .458 SOCOM, .500 Beowolf come to mind for the AR-15 size rifles. .243, 7mm-08, .308, .338 Federal and more in the slightly larger AR-10 platform.

How about an AR-45? The 458SOCOM but unfortunately it doesn't come in an assault rifle configuration. Only in the AR-15 package.
What are you planing to do with an assault rifle?

That's why I refer to any type of rifle as just a rifle to avoid arguments and technicalities  .

..yea, i figured amongst like minded people throwing around the term assault rifle is acceptable. most of the time we know it as "oh, home boy means a black rifle". i better watch my P's and Q's. like going to a star trek convention and screaming out "may the force be with you".

This and pretty much every gun board on the web is reularly monitored by various LEO's and the anti-gun left. Appearances matter. We are not just like minded people, there are lurkers and trolls that would like nothing better than to paint us all as dangerous.

Pick up a semi auto Barrett .50BMG if you really want big. Just get yourself in really good shape if you're going to hump it on an "assault".
