Default AR15 rear sight post

I want mine to look like the one in the second picture maybe not the twisted barrel but w/o the rear sight post. How hard of a job is it?

Basically I want to get rid of the iron sights front and rear. How hard?

You'll need a new handguard probably free float. Low profile gas block and possibly a new gas tube. You'll need an AR multiwrench and punch set.

I suggest you either do some research into the parts listed and watch a bunch of YouTube videos to familiarize yourself with the platform or bring it to a gunsmith.

i hope you dont shoot the rifle using that sight post as a read sight.. that could cause problems for your shoulder and such.. JK

if you are having a diffacult time with just naming parts, your best bet is to have a gunsmith make the change for you. or you could look for an entire new upper half, and sell your current one.
