What platform style are you looking for? DPMS or Armalite
There is also another that uses H&K G3 magazines,so you really need to know what you want.
You will also need to match all of the other components to whatever lower you get,the AR10 platform isn't like the AR15 platform where everything is compatable with different brands/components.

Unless you're just wanting something different,it's easier just to buy a complete rifle in this platform depending on the caliber and configuration that you are wanting.

Please read that carefully.

Probley armalite but I was thinking that this will be a long range build so I would like to go with a 20in or 24in barrel but just need a lower to get started!!

You will find a lot more aftermarket options for the DPMS style lower.

I built a 24" Armalite AR10. Getting parts for it is a complete nightmare. I am still on the wait list for an upper I ordered a year and a half ago. Do yourself a favor and go with a DPMS compatible platform.
