Anyone shot a Kel Tec SU16?

This should have been in the auto rifle area, but that area seems to be brand dedicated. I'm interested in the Kel Tec, but would like to know more. Any experience? Thanks.

Dave :)

If you can find one for a fair price get it. I traded mine off, and I still kick myself in the a$$ for it. Great rifle!

What model of SU16 are you looking at?

The one I've seen and held was a Bravo model, but I understand that a C or CA will fold up and still be shootable. This seems neat, except that the B model will hold two magazines in the stock while the C or CA won't. Hmmm. Anyway, I found that they have chromed barrels so that they will handle 5.56 or .223 and can handle high speed rounds. I like the fact that they are simple with a bolt handle on the bolt, a safety behind the trigger guard and they are light. Talking myself into it aren't I?

All of the models are similar but different as well. There is the A B C Ca and now the D.

Great rifles man, if you are looking at one get it. For a fair price of course.

Thanks, Kryptar, I'll keep you posted if I can get it. I wish they made one that shot the 7.62x39. That would be a deer hunting beast. I'm not sure if the 5.56 will handle a deer or not. I think it would, but have heard both ways, positive and negative.

I hunt with my 5.56 AR. Load selection and shot placement are key. No shots over 300yds.

Actually the CA model cannot be fired with the stock folded, it has the same stock as the A and B models but the same barrel and sights as the C model.

Thanks, Garadex. Do you have one or have you shot one? Thanks for that and any more info.

No I haven't shot one but I have handled them. They feel okay but from what I know from people who own them they typically really enjoy it.

I don't have the rifle model, but have had the PLR-16 pistol since Kel-Tec came out with it. It has always been reliable, and very simple to take down and clean. I thought about buying the rifle buttstock, and getting a SBR stamp for it,but haven't done it.
