Anyone farmiliar with Churchill (gunmakers) ltd??

Wondering if anyone has seen or used this brand of rifle before and what your thoughts are concerning quality, accuracy, etc?? Made in London, England. It's not the Churchill Highlander and I don't know if it is the same company as E.J. Churchill. No fancy custom engraving - more of a sporter with checkered monte-carlo stock and mauser action.

I've had my eye on one in .300 Win sitting on a used rack - not in the best condition (the gun store rates it at 85%) Though I don't see anything severe other than some run of the mill wear - Asking price is $365 and has been sitting for some time. I'm thinking of making a low ball offer ($250?) and trying my hand at a home restoration/improvement project.

I think the main attraction was the way it fit my arms and how light it seemed to be for a magnum caliber even scoped. I'll bet it would make a great mountain rifle for elk.

After WW2, Many Brit companies made some really outstanding rifles on 98 receivers. Check the chamber and throat for erosion. It would be a great buy at $300.00. BTW, check the crown!!!!
