I have seen them go lately between $450 and $900, depending on the caliber and model.

Thanks, they are cool rifles and I wanted one ever since I held one in a gun store about a year ago.

I am soooooo jealous. I have been looking for a '99 in 7mm-08 for years.

The 99 Savage has been my primary woods rifle for the Northeast since 1966. Most of the game I got in VT was with my 99F 358 Win.

The 99's are control round feed!

Here is one of the 99's. The Steyr below it is also a 358!

The .358's are hard to find. They only made them for a very few years. Beautiful gun.

Here's mine in .308. Got it from my dad when he passed away. I've killed 1 elk, 1 bear, and quit a few deer with it.

I don't know very much about savage lever actions. I passed on a lever action savage chambered in 300 savage. The fellow that owned it reloads for 300 mag and 25/06. I figured he couldn't get components for the 300 savage, so I would have a hard time finding ammo. It was a handsome gun for $350.

You passed up a deal. .300 Savage is still easily available.

Why can't I ever run across a deal like that??? There was one at Cabelas a while back same caliber that looked like it had been dragged behind a truck. There price 995.00
